Grounding I | Rhizome, Washington, DC

In this grounding practice, I aim to depart from the former stagnant, motions of illustrating the memory of and longing for a homeland that is not my own. In this new exercise, I aim to make an assertion of my presence, body, and being in the spaces I encounter. Acts of grounding maintain mental well being and help gain familiarity with my environments. The hand-dyed fibers used in the installation views of these images, were initially collaged into a “stage” or “environment" to serve as the backdrop for this movement work.
